Quick Pix As always, it has been a busy week at Carolina Day. Congratulations to swim team members Michaela, Lauren, and Jay. They were named to the All-Conference Team after a recent meet.
The Upper School's SAFER Club sponsored a bake sale this week.
But the biggest event all week had to have been Valentine's Day. The entire school was celebrating. Here is Jackie Gouge with just some the goodies waiting to be delivered to various upper school students-- all most likely sent by secret admirers.
Kathryn came dressed as some kind of "love" angel.
And first grader Lia was a love bug.
All lower school grades had parties. These first graders were involved with a Valentine's Day activity.
And these first graders were showing off some of their treats.
These Key School students were celebrating two events--Valentine's Day AND Tacky Day. (I think?)
But the biggest event of the day had to have been the annual Second Grade Sock Hop held in the cafeteria.
The second graders were busy with the bunny hop, the electric slide, the Macarena, and more.
And there were even few limbo moves.
Actually, these second graders decided that "hopping" over instead of crawling under was a natural solution. By the way, we now know the derivation of the term sock "HOP."
And thankfully, there was at least one calming event during the day--a very special appreciation luncheon for the teachers and staff sponsored by the Faculty & Staff Appreciation Committee of the Parent Council and graciously hosted by Katherine Soderquist, Peggy Partin, Sylvia Cox, Susan Johnson, and Donna Hoffman. Thanks ladies, you made our day!
