April Pre-kindergarten teacher Cathy Walters has been named the Target National Teacher on the Trail winner. This is an incredible honor, and it is the result of an unbelievably competitive and demanding process. She has worked countless hours and created amazing curricular activities for teachers and students related to the Iditarod Race.
The next year will be extremely busy for our own Teacher on the Trail. She will teach at their summer conference for teachers in Alaska, she will teach and present at schools in Alaska for approximately ten days prior to the start of the Iditarod next February, and then she will fly from checkpoint to checkpoint during the race in March to report on it to the world via the Internet.
