Bio

I am excited to continue my educational career at Carolina Day School. The road here has spanned 22 years of teaching from grades 3 through university level. I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and spend many yearly family vacations in the Smoky Mountains. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. My homes have been Guam (my first teaching experience); Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona (the past 20 years); and now Asheville, North Carolina. The land of the cactus, desert, and heat has been replaced with new experiences of rain, snow, squirrels, and really tall trees!  

Teaching on Guam provided me with opportunities to travel to Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. Teaching in Phoenix allowed me to be immersed in the Hispanic and Native American cultures. I constantly look for opportunities to meet new people and experience new cultures.

I am excited to join your children on their sixth grade journey. I am honored to be their guide and their mentor.
