Volleyball Takes WCAA to 5

In yesterday’s final scrimmage match of the season, the Lady Wildcats hosted the WCAA. The Lady Wildcats fell behind early, losing the first 2 matches by close scores. The Lady Wildcats regrouped for the 3rd and behind solid front line play, took the 3rd and 4th game in sharp fashion.

The Lady Cats and WCAA Blazers entered the 5th game tired, but focused. The Blazers of WCAA pull it out in the 5th.

Asheville HS Defeats CDS

September 3rd, 2008

The visitors of Asheville High School defeated the Wildcats yesterday by a score of 5-1 in varsity soccer action. CDS jumped out to an early 1-0 lead behind the strong foot of NCISAA All-State mid-fielder David Wood. However, David’s strong foot was injured in the following moments - knocking David out for the game and deflating the hopes of CDS as they fought against a strong and quick AHS.

AHS scored late in theĀ 1st period to tie the match and jumped out of the gate in the 2nd period with 2 quick goals. The Cougars played with confidence from that point on as they earned the 5-1 victory.

The Cats fall to 0-1 and 0-0 for the year and look to bounce back this week as they host the Blue Devils of Brevard HS on Friday at 430p.

Field Hockey Faces Freedom HS in Opener

The Lady Cats face Freedom HS this afternoon in their season opener. The Wildcats (0-0,0-0) and Freedom HS have had excellent matches in the past - with both teams earning hard fought wins.

The Lady Cats look to rebuild this year after graduating lots of leadership. This years team will be young and athletic - both skills needed to be successful.

Volleyball Team Scrimmages WCAA

The Lady Wildcat volleyball team hosts WCAA this afternoon in an early-season scrimmage. The Wildcats (0-0, 0-2) took the court last week at Asheville HS where they faced Asheville HS and Smoky Mtn HS. The Lady Cats played well and early season matches are always difficult.

The Wildcats look to use today’s scrimmage as as an opportunity for evaluation and development. Today’s match is scheduled for 430p.

Wildcats Face Asheville HS

September 2nd, 2008

In what has become an early-season tradition, the Wildcats face the Cougars of Asheville High this afternoon in varsity soccer action. The Wildcats (0-0,0-0) led by 2 time NCISAA All-State performer David Wood should be ready for a battle as the Cougars continue to have one of the strongest programs in WNC.

The Wildcats have participated in 3 scrimmages to date: Owen HS, Smoky Mtn HS, and the WCAA. All 3 matches have been of super importance - not only have coaches been able to move players around to different positions but the players have also experienced the pace of varsity soccer. The Wildcats look to have a solid year and will call upon not only Wood buit also John Ruhl and Sam Alexander for leadership.

This match is scheduled to begin at 500p - see you out there as the Wildcats begin their 2008 season.

Wildcat Volleyball Falls to Smoky Mtn HS and Asheville HS

The young Cats opened their 2008 volleyball season this afternoon at Asheville High School. The Lady Cats faced a strong Smoky Mtn team in the first part of their tri-match and cam up short in 2 games. Regrouping, the Cats played a much stronger match against the Lady Cougars of Asheville High School, taking the Cougars to 3 games.

Wildcat Soccer takes scrimmage game

The varsity soccer team scrimmaged WCAA on Thursday afternoon and came away with an impressive 5-3 win.

The Cats open their regular season next week when they host the Cougars of Asheville High.

Wildcats rained out at Brevard HS

The lady Wildcats had hoped to start their 2008 campaign against Brevard HS this afternoon. The Cats got in a few games and then the sky opened up and the match was called. We will reschedule this match and post that information as it becomes available.

Tennis Opens Season at Brevard High School

The Lady Cats head to Brevard High School this afternoon to open up their 2008 season. The match begins at 4pm - see ya’ out there.
