Dick Beardsley to Address CDS StudentsThursday, April 3rd, 2008The CDS community welcomes Dick Beardsley to campus tomorrow at 1230p! Mr. Beardsley is a world-class runner and motivational speaker. His running accomplishments are many, but some of you may recall his famous duel, known as the Duel in the Sun, with Alberto Salazar in the 1982 Boston Marathon. Mr. Beardsley will address the community on a wide variety of issues ranging from leadership to lifestyle choices. For further information on Mr. Beardsley, please visit his his web-site. Mr. Beardsley’s address will begin at @ 1230p in the Upper School. We’ll post the exact location this afternoon. Mr. Beardsley’s visit to campus is sponsored in part by the Athletic Leadership Project of Carolina Day School. Cone to Speak At CDSFriday, February 1st, 2008Janet Cone, Director of Athletics at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, will speak to the Carolina Day School Athletic Leadership Project on Tuesday, Feb. 5th, at 1230pm in the Nash Athletic Center. Ms. Cone has a very impressive resume and has been recognized as one of the top female athletic administrators in the country by her peers. Enos Speaks to Standing Room Only CrowdFriday, December 7th, 2007Stacey Enos, former collegiate soccer star at UNC-Chapel Hill and a former US Women’s National Team member, and current Director of Athletics and Adventure Sports at Warren Wilson College, spoke to a standing room only group yesterday at CDS.
