Cats Tie North Buncombe HS, 3-3

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

In what will be remembered as one of the greatest comebacks ever in the history of CDS women’s soccer history, the Lady Cats fought back from a 3-0 defecit to tie the Blackhawks of North Buncombe High School last night in Weaverville, NC.

The Blackhawks dominated early, but the Lady Cats regrouped and behind a solid team effort - led by Melissa GarrettĀ and Michelle Fidelia - clawed their way back to tie.

The Lady Cats hit the road this afternoon as they travel to Spartanburg to face the Griffins of SDS. Keep up the good work!

Crusaders defeat Cats in OT, 3-1

Friday, April 25th, 2008

The Crusaders of Shannon Forest solidified their hold on first place in the CAA with an overtime victory over our Lady Cats.

The Crusaders led 1-0 for most of the game, but a late goal by the Cats tied it up and we went to overtime. In OT, the Crusaders were relentless and applied pressure all over the field. The Cats, hampered this year by injuries, had no answer for the Crusaders…

The Lady Cats look to bounce back this afternoon as they host Frankiln HS beginning at 500p.

In middle school soccer action, the Lady Cats played the Crusaders to a 0-0 tie. Like their varsity peers, the Lady Cats hit the filed again this afternoon at 400p v. Franklin.
