The Cats dropped two at Shannon Forest on Friday night. The Lady Cats fell by a score of 49-38, while the Cats lost 66-52. Shannon Forest is a difficult place to play. The Crusaders have a great group of fans and our hats off to the Crusaders - y’all played well.
The Cats face the red-hot Lions of ACA on Tuesday in Swannanoa. The Cats conclude their regular season when they travel to Spartanburg Day on Friday, February 8th.

Last night our community celebrated the accomplishments of our senior basketball players as they competed in their last home game for the Cats. Senior nights are always filled - and rightly so - with much emotion and last night was no exception.
Our womens team entered last nights contest v. Hendersonville Christian in need of a win and a win they came away with. The Cats fell behind early, but the troops rallied behind a defensive change, quickly taking charge of the contest. Led by our seniors, the Cats played hard for four quarters -as they have all year - as they crusied to a 47-24 win.
On the boys side, the Cats found themselves down by three with six seconds to go - the situation looked bleak. However, the Cats, on senior night, refused to lose. Senior Jake Stanley received a pass with approximately with 5.4 seconds, made a move , and hit a three pointer with less than 3/10ths of a second on the clock to send the game into overtime. In overtime, the senior class showed their maturity and character as they held on for the 85-77 win.
Congrats to our seniors. What a fitting end to your home career!

Carolina Day and Asheville School added another chapter to their historic rivalry yesterday when the two teams matched up in the Nash Athletic Center.
On the girls side, the Blues played an exceptionally good game on their way to victory. The Cats worked hard to overcome a large defecit, but fell short.
On the boys side, the Cats earned the victory behind a solid defensive effort and smart use of the ball on the defensive end.
Go, Cats!

The Eagles of Rabun Gap took two of three against the Cats yesterday evening in the Nash Athletic Center.
In an early JV contest, the Eagles executed well on the offensive end, while the Cats failed to capitalize on their open looks - a hard fought game and well played by both teams.
In the second match-up of the evening, the league leading Eagles, used their strength inside to secure their victory.
In the final game of the triple-header, the Eagles used a variety of defenses to stop the Cats.
The Varsity Boys host Carolina Christian this evening at 6pm.
