Griffins Drop Cats in Soccer

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

The Cats dropped two soccer matches yesterday at Spartanburg Day School.

In ms action, the Cats lost 1-0 in a well played match. This was the last game for the Lady Cats for the 08 season. They finish the season with this tough loss, but the quailty of soccer played improved all year. We all look forward to watching this team as they suit-up next year. Thanks for all of your hard work.

On the varsity side, the Cats rode a wave of emotion into their match-up with the Griffins. On Tuesday night, the Lady Cats played a super exciting match, ending in a 3-3,  against one of the toughest public school teams in the area.

Exhausted, the Lady Cats got on the bus, laced them up again, and played as hard as they could. The Lady Cats played well in the first half and took a 1-0 lead into the break. The Lady Cats hit the wall in the second half - a no legged Cat has very little chance against a flying griffin. Griffins score 4 solid goals in the second half and post the 4-3 CAA victory.

Crusaders defeat Cats in OT, 3-1

Friday, April 25th, 2008

The Crusaders of Shannon Forest solidified their hold on first place in the CAA with an overtime victory over our Lady Cats.

The Crusaders led 1-0 for most of the game, but a late goal by the Cats tied it up and we went to overtime. In OT, the Crusaders were relentless and applied pressure all over the field. The Cats, hampered this year by injuries, had no answer for the Crusaders…

The Lady Cats look to bounce back this afternoon as they host Frankiln HS beginning at 500p.

In middle school soccer action, the Lady Cats played the Crusaders to a 0-0 tie. Like their varsity peers, the Lady Cats hit the filed again this afternoon at 400p v. Franklin.

Cats and Crusaders this afternoon in Greenville, SC

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

The Cats and Crusaders battle this afternoon in varsity and middle school soccer action.

The Cats and Crusaders faced each other earlier this season and both games - ms and varsity - were exceptional.

On the varsity side, the winners of today’s match-up will move into first place in the CAA and will establish themselves as the front runner for 2A representation in the NCISAA Soccer Championships.

Best of success to the Lady Cats!
