Asheville HS Defeats CDS
The visitors of Asheville High School defeated the Wildcats yesterday by a score of 5-1 in varsity soccer action. CDS jumped out to an early 1-0 lead behind the strong foot of NCISAA All-State mid-fielder David Wood. However, David’s strong foot was injured in the following moments - knocking David out for the game and deflating the hopes of CDS as they fought against a strong and quick AHS.
AHS scored late in the 1st period to tie the match and jumped out of the gate in the 2nd period with 2 quick goals. The Cougars played with confidence from that point on as they earned the 5-1 victory.
The Cats fall to 0-1 and 0-0 for the year and look to bounce back this week as they host the Blue Devils of Brevard HS on Friday at 430p.
