the
Winter Solstice with a bonfire and bright wishes
for the future. Carol is holding the delicious
Yule Log Cake she brought to the party.
A wonderful November luncheon at the Winston-Salem
home of Doug and Ann Connor Cummings Jones welcomed
Mary Ellis Starling from the Raleigh area. Mary was
unable to attend the October reunion so we used this
mini-reunion to catch up on her news and enjoy Ann
Connor's delicious chili and broccoli
cornbread.

This antique tapestry fire screen was purchased by
Ann Connor Cummings and her mother at the 1960s SGP
auction when the old Victoria Inn was vacated and the
SGP convent was moved to Madonna Hall. Mrs. Cummings
was a very discerning collector of antiques, a
tradition carried on by both Ann Connor and her husband
Doug. A visit to their home is an education and an
absolute delight for antique lovers.

We had a great time on our hike and stay at Cohutta Lodge in Georgia at the beginning of April 2005.
