Middle School Administrative Assistant

 

The Middle School at Carolina Day School seeks a new Administrative Assistant.  This is a twelve-month position; college degree and experience working in a school preferred. The successful candidate for this position should have a high level of computer and writing skills, strong people and communication skills, and organizational skills.    Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Design, edit and publish twice-weekly online parent communication newsletter
  • Create student and teacher schedules using Blackbaud’s Education Edge software
  • Create grade, attendance, enrollment and other reports using Education Edge software
  • Hire, manage, and arrange substitute teachers
  • Serve as the liaison between MS (students, faculty and administrators) and MS parents via telephone, email and in person
  • Maintain MS calendars; distribute mail; order books and supplies
  • Assist teachers and administrators with various tasks throughout the year (school trips, awards, concerts, etc.)

Upper school history teacher

Carolina Day School seeks an Upper School history teacher.

Responsibilities include teaching up to 5 sections, being a faculty adviser to a group of 8 students, and contributing to committee work as assigned by the Principal of the Upper School.  Ideal candidates will be experienced in teaching European History and World History.  Ideally, candidates will be able to support areas of our extracurricular program, whether through coaching or advising student organizations.
